Slow & steady 🐢 in STUDIO CRAFT today! There are articles about today’s medical students not having strong fine motor and handiwork skills… not these kids! They’ve got skills! 🧶
Love is… hugging, kisses, being close, laughing, make art with friends, kids ages 3-5 at PAINT & PLAY.
WEEKEND ART ACTIVITY made their own animals today! Some have moving parts. Lots of trial and error problem solving, planning, and sharing ideas. Little sculpture projects are a great way to get kids working in 3D. Using a flat circle as a head by making it perpendicular to the body primes them for a deeper understanding of planes and three dimensional shapes. Little sculptures also help them become adept at attachments. In this project they learned to use brads. The other parts were attached with hot glue.
What is love? Close, connects. Bubbly. Spinning, full. Everything. Everywhere. ❤️ spiral art hearts made by 3-5 year olds. Idea inspired by @amymcreynolds 🙏
Spring fun and (hopefully) sun! Schedule your child for art camp during April SPRING BREAK! Register under “camps” at socialstudioart.com
Artists in SKETCH EXPRESS played with pointillism this week starting with beads then moving on to mini marker dots. 🐠🐟🦈
Last night was the last January NEW YEAR ART NIGHTS. Artists made abstract road maps to guide them through 2023 using tape and acrylic on canvas! #newyearart #roadmap #2023goals #artmaking #adultartclasses #creativecommunity #artnight #paintnight #paintparty
What’s going on in there? So many projects in the works! Adult OPEN STUDIO is an opportunity to EXPLORE, ENGAGE, EXPRESS, EXPAND, EXCHANGE… and leave with EMPOWER. See Highlights for more explanation of each phase of Social Studio’s Creative Process Framework.
What do you get when you mix noodles with the book “Parker Looks Up”? A decorative gold frame perfect for a portrait painting! The kids in PAINT & PLAY also shared what they wanted to be when the grew up: astronaut, pitcher, princess, and dog doctor.
